For many, the cost of doula training is a major barrier to them pursuing and successfully becoming doulas. This lack of access contributes to the lack of diversity among doulas available for families of color, and particularly Black women. This scholarship is dedicated to covering the cost of training with the Doula Training Academy and the cost of the certification to become a doula. With this scholarship, we hope to continue to serve the lives of Black women and training Black doulas to combat the public health crisis that particularly Black women face in pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.Doula Philosophy is committed to ensuring that Boston area mothers have the resource of doulas to recognize and combat disparities in maternal health while also supporting them in having the positive birth experience they desire.
